Backed by behavioural science and the power of improv, we transform how people present, persuade, and connect in business.
Our founder, Dr Alexander McWilliam, is the UK’s only PhD graduate in public speaking anxiety and performing under pressure (2024). Over the past 18 years, he’s coached clients from companies across the world, from start-ups to multi-billion-pound organisations.
Originally a trained actor, Alex saw how improvisation could unlock confidence, presence, and adaptability. But in business, he saw the opposite — talented professionals stuck in outdated, scripted training and leaving frustrated: “We learned the theory, but never got to actually do it.”
His solution? Combine behavioural science with the principles of improv to create energising, hands-on sessions where people practice real skills in real scenarios. What once felt daunting becomes engaging, engaging — and even fun.
Since 2017, Improv4Business has helped everyone from apprentices to C-suite leaders deliver presentations that engage, persuade, and make an impact long after the training ends.
To transform business communication and help people become the best version of themselves when presenting and public speaking — using science, improv, and authentic human connection so every voice can make an impact.
We’re curious minds, quick thinkers, and passionate communicators — united by one goal: helping people shine when it matters most. Experts in presenting, public speaking, performance psychology, public speaking anxiety, and the art of improv, we turn nerves into confidence, presentations into stories, and audiences into believers.
